The Library Project Results
To date, The Library Project has established over 200 libraries in China and Vietnam. Over 350 libraries are planned in China and Vietnam by the end of 2010. Some of our libraries are small and others are large, but all of our libraries help to improve the education of each and every child that touches their many colorful books.

Regions We Work In
The Library Project works in 19 provinces throughout China. We have three provinces that we focus our efforts: Shaanxi, Anhui and Sichuan. Each province is very different, with regards to governance, the education system and economic growth.
We work in some of the most remote regions in China, with the most underfunded rural elementary schools. We currently have over 50 libraries scheduled to be completed in 2010.

Children's Books
The Library Project have donated over 150,000 children's books to rural elementary schools and orphanages in China and Vietnam. We work with the book store regional warehouses, online distributors and resellers. In general, we receive deep discounts of between 20-80% off the retail price of each book. This allows us to provide the highest quality books to each elementary school and orphanage.

90% of the books we donate are in the local language and the other 10% have been in English, Korean, Japanese and Russian. In China as with other developing countries, the study of a second or third language begins at a very young age. Our libraries aim to help children become proficient in both native and local languages. We provide the highest quality children's books on the market.
National Book Collection Campaign
The Library Project has collected 50,000 children's books through our National Book Collection Campaign. This campaign takes place at elementary schools, high schools, corporate conferences, companies and in local communities. They only accept children's books that are of the highest quality and in a "like new" condition. This not only gets the community involved, but also raises awareness of the realities of rural elementary schools and orphanages.

Librarian Training
The Library Project conducts a comprehensive Librarian Training Course for the teachers and administration of every rural elementary school and orphanage. This course goes over how to check books in and out to students, how to use the children's books in a classroom setting and how to get the students involved in the maintenance of their library, etc.
The Librarian Training Course is a "crash course" on how to manage their new library, and gets the teachers and administration up to speed on day-one. We have found that once we began conducting this training course, 100% of our libraries are used on a daily basis.
Featured Libraries
The Library Project is constantly providing books and libraries to underfinanced elementary schools and orphanages in China and Vietnam. Each library donation has an amazing story, filled with children with bright futures. Our are a way for us to show off a bit, and tell those stories through words, images and video.
