The Library Project donated 18 rural elementary school libraries to the Shaanxi Province. These libraries were funded by a generous donation from GlobalHort based out of Xi'an, China and New Zealand.

These librares went into elementary schools that suround their kiwi farms in the Meixian and Zhouzhi Counties, in the Shaanxi Provinces. At every library donation, GlobalHort employees got involved as volunteers.

Have fun checking out the photos below. There are a lot of happy kids that have new school libraries in Meixian and Zhouzhi Counties.

A huge "thank you" to GlobalHort for making these libraries a reality.

Library Preparation

The Library Project and GlobalHort teams, with help from students, organize the libary donation at each school.

Donation Ceremony

Each Library Donation has a short Donation Ceremony. This helps to formalize the donation and gets the students and teachers inviolved.

Happy Kids

After the books are organized and the libraries are set up, the students get to dive into their new books. Each library contains between 500-800 Chinese language children's books. They are the best children's books on the market in China.

Activities

The Library Project conducts crafts and other fun activities at each library donation.

The Libraries

The libraries contain "kid friendly", sturdy and colorful bookshelving. Education toys, flash cards, plants and globs are also included in each library donation.

Mini-Bookshelves are placed into each classroom so that teachers can "check" books out of the library and put them into the classroom for the students to access and check out to read at home.
